Gift Box as Wedding FavoursWedding favours should be fun and inexpensive since it is the thought that counts.  One thing, however: make sure that whatever you give out will be appreciated from all the people that attend your wedding.  I say that because most couples tend to give out only one gift.  That gift might not be appreciated to the same extent depending on whether you are male, female, young, or old.

That being said, there are many ways to come up with ideas as to what to gift.  If you are inviting people from abroad, you might want to give something that reflects the local culture.  Alternatively, if you decide to hold your wedding during a special holiday (i.e., Christmas), you might want to add a Christmassy touch to your wedding favours.

In such ocassions, if you’re making your own wedding favours, the materials to make them could be easier found (i.e., gold and red cellophane wrapping paper are usually only available during Christmas) and could be cheaper (since there are more suppliers offering the same thing).

On a last note, while most of the wedding is about you, wedding favours should be about the guests.  Or, in other words, you should give something they will want to keep and something that has meaning.

    WEDDING CAMERAS

Think you’ve heard some interesting Wedding stories? Through our experiences in bringing you the finest Wedding Favors, we’ve come across these bizarre and entertaining stories from across the country:

COUPLE’S SECRET WEDDING PLANS BLOWN BY MADONNA

LONDON (Reuters) - Two shy lovers planning a secret Scottish wedding had their plans blown apart when they ended up on the same “intended marriage” list as pop superstar Madonna.

Jane Tooze and Andrew Davies were planning a quiet Christmas Eve wedding at romantic Skibo Castle and then break the news afterward to friends and families.

But the couple’s plans were flashed in news photographs around the world when they shared the same noticeboard with Madonna and her film director boyfriend Guy Ritchie at the Dornoch registrar’s office in Scotland.

Jane Tooze told Saturday’s Sun tabloid: “It now looks like we may have to make a few phone calls to family and friends beforehand … We certainly didn’t — and don’t — want publicity.”

    Sandalwood Fan Favors

I got these sandalwood fans as my wedding favors. I think they are very chic for very cheap. They are offering a really good volume discount, which is great because I am having so many guests at my wedding. At this price I can afford to place one on each place setting and I think I will put the menu on them. I think these sandalwood fans will look very elegant when I display them with our reception menus.

We bought small sachet bags with satin ribbon and filled them with dried lavender — which has neither an overtly feminine or masculine fragrance. The tag we tied to the ribbon featured our wedding monogram and an explanation that lavender has historically been a symbol of devotion with a thank you for their presence at our nuptials.

We still run into guests and they often say, “I still have that sachet in my drawer! Always reminds me of what a great time we had at your wedding.” Such a welcome testament to all our hard work to make it a night to remember, not just for us, but our guests as well.

We got our wedding monogram from www.truelovelogos.com. They’ve got hundreds of designs to choose from, it was hard to choose just one! We still use ours on our personal stationery and had it embroidered on some towels for our master bathroom.
